Final destinations are an accumulation of previous routes. Individual therapy is our opportunity to take a mental road trip. During these sessions we will identify wrong turns, learn one-way streets, stop to evaluate progress, and most importantly keep driving!
Therapy sessions are designed to assist you in reaching your healthiest mental state yet. The initial session is formatted to be foundational to ensure you set and reach your personal goals. During this time we discuss the reason you chose to seek therapy. This introductory time is designated to establish therapeutic boundaries, discuss psychosocial history, and establish rapport.
Each individual session is 60 minutes. Individual sessions are currently offered in office setting only.
Many people experience mental health difficulties, but few speak about them to people they don’t know well. While it may sound intimidating at first, group therapy can provide benefits individual may not. Group members often act as a support network and soundboard for each other. Other members of the group often help you come up with specific ideas for improving a difficult situation or life challenge, and hold you accountable along the way. Regularly talking and listening to others also helps you put your own problems in perspective.
Group therapy sessions are designed into two main categories. Target groups focus on a specific problem, such as depression, social anxiety, or self-esteem. General groups focus more on improving social skills, helping people deal with a range of issues such as anger and loneliness. These groups can be open, which means people can join at anytime or they can be closed, which means there is a cap.
Groups sessions are 60 minutes and run once a week. Currently groups are offered based on request and at a contract rate discussed during consultation.
